SCT Collimation without Tools: BOB'S KNOBS
KNOBS FOR MEADE 8 inch (20 cm) f/6 LIGHTBRIDGE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY
Fits: All Meade 8 inch (20 cm) f/6 Lightbridge telescopes. Also fits Zhumell and GSO 8 inch telescopes.
Knobs:
Primary collimation: Black plastic, 30 mm (1-1/4 inch) diameter, 5-point fluted.
Primary locking: Black plastic, 25 mm (1 inch) diameter, knurled.
Secondary collimation: Black plastic, 13 mm (1/2 inch) diameter, knurled.
Threads: Black oxide or zinc plated steel (primary adjustment); stainless steel (primary locking); stainless steel (secondary).
Note 1: The factory dust cover will fit normally with Bob's Knobs installed.
Note 2: The telescope optical tube assembly will clear the rocker box with primary knobs installed.
Note 3: Primary mirror springs as supplied by the factory can sag from the weight of the mirror cell. Our stainless steel replacement springs are stronger and provide adequate support to maintain primary mirror collimation. We recommend that the mirror locking screws remain in place for additional control.
